JRM Racing Le Mans 24 Hours, Report after 12 Hours
After the team lost time with a rear left puncture on Peter’s stint just before 23:00hrs, David had a fight on his hands to regain position. The Australian made a charge through the LM2 cars and was back to 9th overall by the time he handed over to Karun Chandhok on lap 158. Karun soon went up to 8th and set about chasing the #44 Starworks car for 7th overall.
However on a stop on lap 169 Karun reported a problem with the clutch and was pushed into the garage. He rejoined in 12th overall.
Key points:
David starts his stint in 17th position after the puncture
He makes a stop for fuel only on lap 127, tyres and fuel on lap 137 and just fuel on lap 148
David hands over to Karun Chandhok on lap 158, also changing tyres and refueling
Karun pits for fuel on lap 169. During the stop Karun reported a minor issue with the clutch so the car was checked over in the garage and then released

Unfortunately Peter had the puncture just before my stint and he did a great job to get it back to the pits. The team then did an awesome one to get the car back on the road again. The competition here is so close that any sort of issue will set you back – as was the case here. I was able to get quickly back into the rhythm though and pick up positions. The first set of tyres was not as good as the second and we found that in traffic the temperature goes out of them and we lose grip. I had a few yellow flags in the first stint and then on the second a bit of vibration where I went off line and picked up some dirt on my tyres, but overall the car felt pretty good and we didn’t have any major dramas.
