Countdown to:

JRM Rally

JRM is proud of its rallying heritage. From the moment the company became involved with this demanding and highly competitive sector of motor sport, JRM was a force to be reckoned with: its expertise, engineering and sporting commitment seeing it achieve success-after-success in the UK and overseas.

JRM’s rally history goes back over two decades. At the end of 2008 James Rumsey purchased Chesterfield-based ADR Motorsport, the acquisition including the company’s assets, goodwill and, most importantly, its highly-skilled technical staff.

During the 1990’s and 2000’s it built and prepared a range of race and rally cars for a number of different championships. Then, in 2004, the company was contracted by Mitsubishi Motors UK to run its works rally team. The project culminated with back-to-back victories in the British Rally Championship, the team securing the Manufacturers’ and Drivers’ titles in 2007 and 2008, which is when JRM stepped in.

In 2009 JRM’s rally team competed in the British Rally Championship and selected rounds of the Irish Tarmac Championship. It also entered events across Europe and Scandinavia, including rounds of the Finnish Rally Championship and the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

But it was in 2010 when JRM became a dominant force in rallying, winning the MSA British Rally Teams’ Championship in only its second year of competition. With outright victories secured on the Pirelli and Jim Clark rallies, JRM achieved one of its key objectives in only two-months of rallying: to win an international rally on gravel, asphalt and snow.

Powering JRM to success was the hugely successful Group N Mitsubishi Evolution X. With Mitsubishi as a manufacturer reducing its involvement in motorsport, development of the Evolution X became the domain of independent teams and JRM quickly established itself as one of the leading constructors of Group N and later R4 Lancers as it embarked on an extensive program to get the best from the car’s engine, transmission and chassis.

Therefore, for customers who are looking for the ultimate Group N4 or R4 machine, JRM is first choice. And, if its not a full specification example that’s wanted, there are bespoke build programmes to ensure every customer gets exactly what they want, right down to the last torque-tightened nut and bolt.

JRM’s in house design, engineering, fabrication and assembly facilities allow it to execute customer-specific projects - from start to finish. This includes team and manufacturer programmes, from concept and manufacture, through to construction and on-event support.
